Mmm. So. Much. Pleasure. A barefoot in the grass kind of mood!
“Pleasure is the point. Feeling good is not frivolous, it is freedom” Yes. This. So much this. After being introduced over two years ago by @dylanlouiswilliams , I’m finally reading @adriennemareebrown and damn is it good.
In general, it feels cliche to talk about how much I appreciate the tiny things these days. Or maybe it’s not cliche, it feels redundant. And yet, here I go. Pleasure in the little things has helped me throughout this past year more than I could express in the confines of an Instagram post.
Nature, the sheer delight of grass between my toes, blue skies that feel like a technicolor daydream, this weird in-between season where it’s scorching in the sunshine and nippy in the shade. Leather jacket season. Knowing that I live in a city where piazza culture and il dolce far niente is stretching out in the days ahead of me in a way that makes me giddy when I think about it. Knowing that picnic season is here and beach season is right around the corner. There’s something so deliciously hopeful about spring. Taking delight in little things- like my toes in the grass - and committing 100% to continuing to live in a manner that I follow my pleasures as much as humanly possible (in all the senses).
Where can you find a little more pleasure in your life?
