Hi I’m Rachel!

The most cliche thing to write on here (forgive me!):
“A lot of you are new here, so I thought I’d share a little mini-introduction”

🇮🇹 I live in Rome and I‘m a storyteller. When I first conceived that tagline it was as a way to explain that I was a tour guide but also so much more. Now, after over a year of the pandemic I’m mainly the “so much more” and not so much a tour guide. Who knows in the future? My obsession with Rome still lends itself well to me showing you around!

🏛 I’ve worked in tourism (guide, planner, PR/social media manager and much more) in the Eternal City since 2010.

✍️ I am (and always have been) an avid writer. This year I finally started sharing it with the world. I have maybe 2-3 partially-finished books I’m “working on”. That’s in quotes because they’re still marinating. And also I journal. Every. Single. Day.

🧘‍♀️ I became certified to teach yoga and meditation in January 2018 with @zunayoga . The practice of yoga has truly changed my life and I love to share it in all of its forms.

⭐️ This past winter I did consulting work for a very exciting Italy-based travel company and I can’t wait to share the news with all of you when it launches!

🇺🇸 I grew up in Asheville, NC. When I finished university at @uncchapelhill (with a degree in Public Relations) I moved to Rome, accidentally and then eventually on purpose.

✨I’m kind of obsessed with contrasts: I’m a party girl in my soul but I also like being in bed by 10pm. I’m a hedonist but I also appreciate and have learned to like discipline. I’m an eternal optimist but I can also be pretty sarcastic. I can go (I’ve been told) an unreasonably long amount of time without alone time but I also enjoy being by myself (this is a relatively new discovery).
