Endless rain with pockets of brilliant sunshine!
An apt metaphor for life these days. Here we all are, surviving and adjusting. We’re clinging to slivers of nostalgia while boldly moving forward with our new and pandemic-friendly holiday plans. I cycle between gratitude for the little moments and a sense of overwhelm. Add on top a dash of my persistent belief that I should be doing and planning and producing more.
My go-to solution is long walks in Rome. I’d love to say I wander and get lost, but I don’t. I wander and I find myself in my favorite little spots and I use them as a reminder that this is just one season, one tiny chapter in my life, in our lives.
Crossing over this 2,000+ year old bridge (built in 62 BC) provides perspective. There have been many, many seasons of disruption in Rome. This moment is just another moment.
Gentle reminder: we are all human and we are all living through this in our own ways. May #pontefabricio inspire you to be a little more gentle with yourself today, this week, this holiday season. If we can be gracefully supported by a bridge built two thousand years ago, we’re going to be just fine during the last few weeks of 2020
