Technicolor scene in my Roman neighborhood

I did this thing this weekend and I decided not to tour guide. It’s Easter weekend. Rome is teeming with tourists. Rachel, the 2019 version, would’ve been horrified. So many opportunities, so much possibility for work, so much internal and external pressure to show up for all the lovely humans who chose to be here over this holiday weekend.

And? I’m trying to practice what I preach, trying to continue to find balance, trying to remember that my ability to work endless hours and days without stopping is not always something to be worn proudly, like a badge of honor.

I’ve been having all these conversations with a huge variety of people (friends/colleagues/acquaintances/clients) over the past months. It seems we’ve all gotten a little more used to a slightly slower pace of life after the past two years.

So, yes, there is a blossoming sense of expansion and possibility and so much wonder as the world continues to open up— and, equally there is a desire to keep moving at the slightly slower pace we’ve cultivated over the past few years.

Like most things I write about, it’s both/and, it’s balance/contrast, it’s a continued exploration.

So? I took this weekend off and tended to a lot of work at home and slow juicy time with friends and a bit of spring cleaning.

Happy Sunday, happy Easter if you celebrate, happy opening-up-of-the-world!!

Slow down, if you feel called to or speed up and enjoy the world as it unfolds around you. Sending love 💛✨
