anti auguri bella mia! Today is Rome’s 2,773 birthday. Poor thing has to celebrate all alone. Do you think we should arrange a Zoom Aperitivo? Clearly this picture is from the archives. It’s that perfect hour of day when the Vittoriano changes colors every thirty seconds and the umbrella pines catch and release sunshine until they’re satisfied. I never thought I’d feel the slightest bit of nostalgia for the traffic in Piazza Venezia but I do. So, with tanto affetto and gratitude for getting to live in this beautiful city, I will celebrate quarantined today. Rome, you drive me crazy but I adore you.

In honor of Rome’s special day, maybe take a minute today to do something nice for yourself or say something nice to yourself or say or do something nice for someone else. Just a friendly reminder that we’re all going through this and sometimes one day feels like about two and a half months and other times you blink and it’s bed time already and your ‘today to-do’ list waits until tomorrow. Even in the strangest circumstances we all have good days, we all have bad days. Just remember- you are pure magic.
