A lizard in Namibia (February 2023)🦎

Our bodies are always talking to us, are we listening?

This is the question I ask myself, again, and again, and again.

My whole life used to be defined by my head. My thoughts. The feelings and emotions that would rise up.

This was often followed by a deep desire to suppress them or correct them or manage them. “People pleaser” feels overused these days- but damn, it describes me accurately.

These days I try to choose things based on how my body responds and feels. For some people that may seem obvious/for others it may seem incomprehensible. As a chronic over-thinker I still struggle (always) to turn down my mind and turn up my instinct, my awareness of my body’s cues, my innate awareness of my “hell yes” vs. my “no”.

It’s taken years of going into places I’d rather have not explored, and it’ll probably take years (a lifetime) to continue ‘excavation’. And that’s okay cause it’s also not a constant process.

The irony is— if it was a constant process, I’d spend a lot more time in my head working through the process and then we’d be back to square one.

What’s the point? It’s simple yet huge— we can trust ourselves. We can learn to trust our bodies and our innate inner guidance and the whispers as your heart flutters or you get butterflies or your breath starts to get more rapid.

We can trust ourselves by constantly (consistently) doing the things we say we’re gonna do, and following through and being real with ourselves and others and feeling what ‘real’ feels like in our body.

Curious what that looks like? I’m working with people through 1-on-1 coaching calls talking about all this and so much more ☀️

✨Embodiment (living in your beautiful body)
✨Releasing shame
✨Living authentically
✨Being as unapologetically YOU as you can be, warts and all- as they say
✨All the other things: career, finances, sex life, relationships… it’s all fair game.
