“{The sea} is my favorite thing, I think, that I have ever seen. Sometimes I catch myself staring at it and forget my duties. It seems big enough to contain everything anyone could ever feel.”
-‘All the Light We Cannot See’ by Anthony Doerr
Enjoying these last lazy days of August to the fullest. I could think of something more to say about my relationship either to this summer, or to this year, or to the sea or to life in general. But I’ll leave that for another day. For today I just want to say: the sea makes me ‘forget my duties’ too, and then it makes me question what my duties were in the first place. One thing I know for certain is this: Summer 2020 has involved more visits to the sea than I could have possibly dreamt of 6 months ago. I am forever grateful. Thank you, Mediterranean Sea, you have been oh so very kind to me this year.
In 2021, when we can all travel again and there’s some new definition of what is normal- what’s the first place you want to visit?
