There’s a brilliance to empty Rome. There’s a sadness too. Do I have to pick one or the other?

Seeing St. Peter’s Square so stunningly empty is a privilege and it’s weird. But still. Look at that light! Look at those statues! Look at St. Peter’s Basilica looming over the city, proudly the tallest building in Rome and the largest Catholic Church in the whole world!

It’s always been pretty easy for me to find a positive spin to things, I consider it one of my greatest gifts. Being a glass-half full kind of a person certainly makes life easier, most of the time.

Still. Pandemic fatigue is real y’all. There’s so much going on in the world and we’re all doing our best and sometimes we don’t and that’s okay too. I want to say encouraging beautiful things on here and I want to say them in my real life too. So for now? You can find me teaching yoga and wandering around Rome and remembering to enjoy the emptiness because it won’t last forever. I’m 100% certain tourists will return to Rome (of course they will, eventually!) and I’m relishing being a full-time yoga teacher in the meantime.

Ps: Yes. I’m a tour guide and I’m also a yoga teacher.
