ere I am, in my natural element, expertly captured by @maureenmozi325 💛
I take a lot of pictures. I take a lot of pictures because I think Italy is beautiful and she takes my breath away. But also, let’s be honest, I take a lot of pictures because I post a lot on Instagram (although I’m the first to self criticize and say I also don’t post enough). I post a lot on Instagram because I like sharing Italy with you (and I’m so grateful you follow along to see it, too). Sometimes I post compulsively, sometimes I let it go for days at a time without even considering it. To be honest, when I don’t post, it normally means there are lots of lovely things happening in real time that take my attention away from this digital space.
I’m still trying to figure out the balance.
I’ve been trying to stay more present. Trying to remind myself that the most important lesson I’ve learned over the past year and a half (or maybe in my whole life) is that simply being is enough. Simply being.
Discipline and hard work and effort are all a part of life and they are valuable and necessary and admirable too. But, in the end, we are all, whether in a big way or a small way, in a constant process of coming back to ourselves. When we can really, truly be ourselves- that, in all of its simplicity, is enough.
And on that note, I am so infinitely grateful for the last two weeks. Grateful to have a mama who I can laugh til I cry with, cry til I laugh with, and everything else in between. She is, simply put, meravigliosa (one of her favorite Italian words).
