Pure. Magic.

The Pantheon is one of those monuments that no matter how many times I see it, how many times I explain it, and how often I walk past it, it still makes my heart flutter a little bit. 11 years ago when I first visited, it was the first thing in the city that I can remember giving me butterflies. I remember asking a million questions as I tried to wrap my head and heart around this city that would become my home.

The past week has been like a dream. I am truly adoring these moments to explore a (mostly) empty Rome. My heart is bursting at this crazy unique opportunity to see the city as a movie set. To walk around, listening to old Italian music and staring up at the little details that I’ve never noticed before. To soak it all in and recognize that these little tiny moments are really what life is made of. While everything is still uncertain and unsure, I find real comfort knowing that this building has seen 1,894 years (!!!) of humans doing human things and still manages to be this damn breathtaking.
