May 22, 2021
Funny things like that time last month I presented a virtual award and Italy magic and the joy of experiencing new things.
We’re nearly halfway through 2021. Pretty crazy, right? I find myself stuck between shock at how much my life has changed (my goodness it has!) and a bit of low-grade anxiety feeling like maybe it should have changed more or... differently or... somehow feeling like maybe it is not quite enough.
And then I look around me.
My life (and a lot of life these days) seems like a series of “pinch me, is this real” moments. In between those moments, I confess I am as confused as ever about what I ‘do’. There was a time where I knew the exact answer to the questions. A series of easy sound bites that made sense and were understood by all around me.
These days, I’m not so sure: is there even a reason to define it? The fact that Instagram is ostensibly a marketing platform but also a place for me to be real and honest is where I start to feel sticky about what my purpose is on here. Or in general. Or like, somewhere in between and also both? And then I remember: I’m not really ‘here’ for anything. I’m here to tell you how I feel and what I’m seeing. To share my life in (curated) moments. To tell stories. And then also let’s be honest- I’m here to tell you about the yoga retreats and the Italy trips I’m leading. To use this little platform to show you my Rome. To try to not hold back and to be more raw and real than I would’ve been a year or two ago.
I’m not sure where I’m going, but none of us fully are (right? can someone back me up a little bit here?) but I do know that everything in life seems to conspire to bring me the most magical moments. To the most magical places. With magical humans. And it regularly leads me to the most lovely series of events. In moments like these- I often wonder where, at what point, the magic of Italy became something I got to turn over in my fingers and hold and claim as my own. So, yeah. There’s a whole lot of feeling fortunate and a little confusion and oh my goodness summer 2021 is gonna be magic. I feel excited and twitter-pated and lucky, mostly. That’s all!
