Exactly one year ago, while Italy was still in the midst of its umpteenth lockdown, @liviahengel and I went on an adventure through the Chianti region of Tuscany

Here I am with a donkey looking very, very nature-y (kidding).

But really, @podereleripi blew my mind. The wine was damn good and is certified ‘triple a’ and the food we paired it with was delicious too.

But what really stuck with me was the overall respect for nature and the biodynamic farming methods and the Fibonacci sequences all over the place. The palpable energy and the feeling of being connected to nature was omnipresent even though the place is also clearly designed for tourists and visitors. But my goodness, you could feel the deep respect everywhere for the subtle and esoteric laws of the land.

Not gonna lie, I have what I like to call a ‘gray’ thumb. But I also adore learning and so when the farmers and winemakers and tour guides told us about how the planting cycles follow lunar cycles and the entire ecosystem of the place was self-sufficient and all kinds of other really beautiful facts, I tried to retain as much of it as I could.

I didn’t succeed, not fully.

But this is the impression I was left with: there is a big world filled with magic out there. Mm hmm yep, I knew that.

There’s a lot of unexplainable things in this big universe and it’s up to us to stay curious about how those things pop up in our day-to-day life.

I think the more we talk about it and write about it and observe it in our daily lives, the more we normalize it and give others the outlet to also talk about the energy of a place.

That’s all. A rambly acknowledgment that this place is real cool energetically and the wine is great too and it’s totally worth a visit 💛
