Devotion đź“ż

Honestly? My inversion practice isn’t that “advanced” for someone who’s been teaching yoga for over 5 years. My creation of an altar on retreats began organically and has evolved over the past 3 years. 4 years ago, my bff gave me @kim_krans Animal Spirit cards and my (mild) obsession with cards and tarot began there.

If a dead dragonfly had fallen off the ceiling and landed on my lap as I created an altar for my retreat (true story!) I wouldn’t have given it a second thought 5-6 years ago (I also wouldn’t have been creating an altar in the first place) 🪶

And yet, as I always tell people on retreats or when I lead circles: I come by it all *real* honestly.

I grew up surrounded by spiritual women involved in spiritual practices.

I had a Wiccan priestess oversee a ceremony when I got my first period.

My mama has a collection of tarot and oracle cards that date back to the 1970s, when she first started being interested in spiritual practices and astrology (as a teenager).

My childhood was filled with fairies in the woods and magic spells and stories of guardian angels and so much encouragement to explore the unknown and the unseen.

This world is filled to the brim with mysteries and hidden truths and surprises and twists and turns.

How can we deny the existence of magic?

And the most magical thing I can think of is groups of women gathering together.

So, yes, devotion.

I’d like to spend my life devoted to uplifting (and empowering) girls and women. I’m not interested in chaos or disrupting the status quo in some big loud clacking way (although I definitely admire the women who are!).

I’m here for the soft devotion. For the gatherings filled with laughter and joy and play and movement. I’m here for lightness.

In this current season, I’m getting ready to launch FOUR retreats next year.

I dislike the admin stuff but I love the creation process.

And I couldn’t be more excited to continue to devote myself to the lil’ uprising that is women stepping into their own power, softness, and worth.

*last slide is the women who joined me and @ladygroove in Hot Springs, NC and spoiler alert: we’re doing it again 🫶

*stay tuned*
