Community. Connection. Foundations. Home.

Really (infinitely) grateful for these roots of mine ✨

The more I travel, the more I appreciate Asheville.

Being here in this season (which everyone reassures me is one of the best leaf seasons in recent history!) has been nothing short of magic.

Two (short) weeks ago, I was leading a retreat in the Tuscan hills and today I set off to lead another one deep in the mountains of western North Carolina.

In Tuscany, we were an eclectic mix, many of us had left our country of origin.

One woman poignantly expressed (during our closing circle) that the retreat experience had given her a chance to reflect on how much she had been missing her roots, and had a deep inner desire to reconnect.

Knowing I was on my way back to my first home, her words moved me so much that I’m still thinking about them.

Here we are. It’s not the prettiest moment in human history, it’s not the ugliest one either.

There’s a whole lot going on in the world. There’s horror and tragedy. There’s suffering. There’s war. There’s anxiety. There’s depression.

What can we do? How can we help?

For me, right now, the answer is service. We can serve the communities around us. We can create community and connection. We can engage in the world around us. We can offer whatever it is that we have to offer.

I have seen, time and time again, that when we connect to what’s around us we create connection that has a ripple effect.

And so, that’s it. I’m so grateful for this chance to connect to my roots. And I am even more grateful for the ten women who are trusting me (and @ladygroove) to serve as their guide this weekend as we go a little deeper into our bodies, and create connection and community.
