And the sun sets on summer, perfectly on schedule here in Rome.

It’s supposed to warm up again. It’s not quite over. I’ll certainly hold onto the slower pace of summer for a little while longer, while I can. I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to outdoor evenings wearing sandals without jackets. To long nights with friends and salty hair and freedom and irresponsible bedtimes and all the beauty and all the things I got to experience this Italian summer.

And on a less material note, I’ll hold on to Summer 2020 for a long, long time for other reasons too. I think globally, as humans, we are all in such rapid, mind-blowing, life-changing stages of growth and transformation and rebirth and redefining everything that we know about life. This is both amazing and painful. It is both beautiful and heartbreaking. It’s a lot and yet it’s totally accessible. There are a lot of contradictions, a lot of nuisance, just like this whole year... just like life.

Let’s let the sun set on what isn’t working and appreciate what is. Whatever it is you’re doing in the world right now, can you try to just accept that you’re doing it right?
