Blending right in with the scenery.

I’ll never not be a straniera here but that doesn’t mean I don’t feel oh so at home in Italy.

So, how l did I end up in Rome? I realized today I’ve never written about it virtually. I've told the story so many times to so many tourists that I know my 'elevator' pitch by heart. I came to Rome for the first time in 2009. I was visiting one of my best friends in his hometown. The first thing I remember being stupefied by was the Pantheon. I'm told now that I literally wouldn't stop asking questions. Yep, that sounds pretty on brand.

What was supposed to be a 5-day trip turned into two months of working in the wild west of Roman tourism in a most unexpected turn of events.

In 2010, I convinced my best friend to come for a second summer which turned into 6-months and by then I had fallen completely in love with this chaotically beautiful city of my dreams.

And that’s all for now folks. Perhaps I just miss guiding and thus felt the need to relay my elevator pitch?
