Hi you

You’re busy like 2019 and I’m grateful. I’m grateful people are appreciating you and I’m grateful you’re full and I’m grateful that tourism appears to be back in full swing.

And?

Between me and you, I’m SO damn grateful I got to experience you in 2020. And in 2021.

I’m grateful for the intimate moments we got to spend, just us.

Someday I know I’ll write a book for you. For us. For the time that was, without anyone else. It was special and it feels a bit like I dreamt it all.

And maybe that’s just life. A continuous reminder that unexpected things are always just around the corner and that you (Rome) are gonna be here in all your beauty, steadfast and consistent. Even in your inconsistencies. Especially there.

The thing that makes me love you the most is the fact that you make me feel connected to humanity in this way that is felt more than describable with words.

And? Final gentle reminder if you’re part of this insane world that is tourism *or* if you’re simply planning on visiting this year— we’re allowed to take things a little slower from now on.

We’re allowed to be deliberate with how much we work or how much we visit when we travel. Ya know that meme about how “now I understand why the Renaissance was full of paintings of naked women lounging aimlessly on couches?” I’m going to leave you with that idea as something worth embodying as we travel/as we adjust/as we readjust/and repeat ✨

Sending big Sunday love 💛
