Ooh goodness.

Please excuse the #influencer photo!

You know those trips where you can’t find words that quite describe it?

Namibia was one of those.

Top contenders:
Desolate, empty, otherworldly, striking, calm, intense, sandy. Eye-opening. Perspective-shifting. Quiet. Caffeinated and loud (me!). A stunning reminder of the beauty in the world and our infinite smallness compared to a vast star-filled night sky without a drop of light pollution.

Part 1: I went on my first safari saw: 🦁🦒🐘🦩🦓🦏 and a cheetah.
Part 2: Drove down the Skeleton Coast, saw a lot of abandoned things, a few ostriches, and almost got mauled to death by 200,000 seals.
Part 3: Desert and sand dunes and new friends and a very, very dear old friend who I am forever grateful for.

I knew it was a good idea when I booked the ticket on December 21, 2022 to hang out with @jamesbelgrave for 15 days in the second least populated country in the world.

I knew I’d learn. I knew I’d grow. I guess I knew I’d come back changed, too. But most importantly? I trusted. Trusted James to be the most practical planner, trusted myself to know when to push my limits (hanging off chains on the side of a mountain) and when to rest (requesting extra time in the morning cause that’s when I decompress/yoga/write).

I feel so damn lucky and blessed and charmed, but it’s not in a way that the rest of the world isn’t— it’s that I’ve learned through patient practice to trust and listen to my body, and when all else fails: I just say YES.

Also I spent much more time covered in layers of dust and dirty clothes than lounging in trees but this is IG and it’s a highlight reel, right? I’ll post the dusty pictures, too.

I’m oh so excited to bring my desert lessons into the world— to host retreats and workshops and teach more yoga and lead tours and and and.

Said it before, will say it again. Travel is something ya just never, ever regret 🌞
