Things that make you go “oooh!”

My beautiful city: you’re lovely even in January. You’re lovely even when we find out we are in never-ending lockdowns. You are lovely in plagues and in war and in all the unpleasant things that humans do. You, you my love, are eternal.

Thank you for providing me with endless inspiration, even when it’s cold and winter-y. Thank you for continuing to make my heart beat a little faster, even when I’m having trouble understanding what’s going on in the world.

I’d be lying if I said this week has been all sunshine and golden hour lights. It’s been a week of finding out we are locked down until March and a week with rainy days in Rome. Yet, despite it all, we continue. These days are special. These days are hard. These days are sprinkled with sunshine. As @glennondoyle says: “we can do hard things”.

Sums up these days pretty well. And those golden hour lights? They still make me go “ooh!” and they’re still a source of inspiration and wonder
