A retreat leader!

What a beautiful thing. The fact that this time two years ago I hadn’t led a single retreat really does make me recognize, on a personal level, how far I’ve come.

Our invitation (with my beloved and inspirational sisterwife @morganickitchen) on our retreat this past weekend in #Tuscany was to #BLOOM.

-Bloom where you are planted.
-Bloom where you can.
-Bloom despite the circumstances, or bloom because of them.

I muse on this a lot but I just want to recognize: the wellness space on this corner of the internet is weird. Instagram is weird. Social media is weird. The fact that I feel compelled to post about this all sometimes feels a little weird too.

So when I encourage you to bloom, I don’t mean you should bloom into me. Or that you should bloom into being a yogi or a vegan (which btw I am not) or a person who is constantly striving to “improve” themselves and never quite feeling accomplished. I don’t mean you should bloom somewhere that feels unnatural. I simply mean: Bloom. Grow. Evolve. Whatever it means to you, set intentions for yourself and maybe write them down and then look back at the you that made those intentions and allow her or him to be so proud of where you are, right now (or in the future).

Growth isn’t linear, but we keep blooming and moving forward. It’s a wild ride, y’all.

Yesterday was the first day of spring.

There is a wave of newness and possibility and change and the trees in Rome are covered in pink and white flowers and there is a whole lot of sunshine.
So, bloom.
