Time is a very liquid-y, fluid concept these days..
This is real life. Somewhere between vineyards and rolling hills, between blue skies and occasional downpours. Slow, luxurious travel through Tuscany trying to figure out if time is real anymore (we’re all feeling the stretchy elasticity of it these days, right?)
I’m combing through articles, trying to figure out when things are opening? If they are opening? Yes. Yes they are and they will. The unknown feels overwhelming and yet it has for well over a year. Travel opening back up again and the current very swollen pause we are all experiencing. Is Europe opened this summer? Can we travel? When and where are there quarantines? Despite some current confusion, I remain optimistically hopeful and excited about the immediate future of travel.
For me, this is the longest I’ve been away from Rome in a year and a half. Here I am. Very close to home and yet eons away. So where am I and why Tuscany? I’m currently on a dream (working) vacation thanks to @essenza_escapes and @the_italyedit. We are exploring one of my favorite subjects: slow (sustainable) travel and the concept that wellness is much larger and more robust than the current buzz words we associate it with. We want to encourage future travelers to slow down and savor Italy.
I guess that’s the thing with time? A ten-day trip is passing in the blink of an eye. And yet this summer still feels like it’s months away. And last summer feels like yesterday but also like two years ago.
This picture is from @podereleripi where time feels like it literally stands still and yet is respected in every single part of their process as well. Time dictates when to plant, when to harvest, when to dig and the rhythms and movements of the land they live on. That’s the thing about nature and time. It may feel liquid to me right now (and I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in that sentiment) but nature just keeps moving forward and also reminding us to slow down and take things in and reconnect and that’s my thoughts on that for today.
