“Accept what life offers you and try to drink from every cup. All wines should be tasted; some should only be sipped, but with others, drink the whole bottle.” - Paulo Coelho
Tasting all of it/taking it all in. So many things. First, red wine season has officially arrived. As of yesterday it is chilly here in Rome. It’s like the weather realized it is the end of November and decided to act accordingly. The days are short and crisp and there is a general sensation that festive season is on its way.
Second, it feels much different than years before. Of course. Pandemic, rules, restrictions, decisions. Still, it is amazing how quickly we adjust. Yes, everything is closed at 6pm every day. Yet we adjust. In anticipation of our 10pm curfew the streets are mostly empty around 8pm.
And yet, here we are. Here we are, accepting what life offers and drinking from many cups. For some of us that acceptance feels graceful and for others it is hard. Today I’m feeling exceptionally grateful for warm scarves, red wine and bright sunny days where being outside is a delight
